Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We have set up this page to share details of the NECS Yorkshire & Humber team's upcoming fundraising efforts for Leeds Hospitals Charity. So many people in our team have a connection to Leeds Hospitals Charity - whether that is because they or a loved one has been a patient within LTHT, or because they used to work there before joining NECS, which is why we are proud to be using our CSR time to support them this year. The charity raises money to support various efforts within the Trust, including but not limited to:
- The Rob Burrow Centre for MND - Once built, the centre will see all MND services housed under one roof for the first time.
- Leeds Children’s Transplant Team - Projects vary in size and scope, from Halloween craft packs to specialist staff roles in order to pump prime new services. All are focused on enhancing the care and treatment of paediatric patients in Leeds.
- Leeds Cancer Centre - During 21/22 Leeds Hospitals Charity awarded over £830k across 55 applications to support a range of initiatives and projects to enhance cancer care and treatment in Leeds. From small items like clothing for patients receiving radiotherapy, to bigger projects like digital innovations for research and the latest diagnostic technology that will mean better and quicker diagnoses for people with cancer.
Our events so far have included an all day treadmill challenge on Monday 29th July to fundraise for the British Transplant Games, York 10km on Sunday 4th August, and a bake sale at Wellington Place on Wednesday 7th August.
We are planning more events for the rest of the year and we will keep this page updated with our progress! We are hoping to raise £1,000 by the end of March 2025, and we are grateful for donations of any size to this fantastic cause. We will be using the same fundraising link throughout the year, so please donate as and when you can.
