Story
In September, I'll be cycling from London to Brighton to raise money for Day One Trauma Support, a charity that now holds a very special place in my heart.
On 08/08/2024, life had other plans for me. Following an accident, I spent thirteen days in a major trauma ward and faced challenges that tested me physically, mentally, and emotionally in ways I could never have imagined. Recovery was long, exhausting, and often overwhelming. Learning to stand again, walk again, and regain an active lifestyle was incredibly difficult. At times, it was hard to imagine that I would ever get back to doing the things I loved...
I am forever grateful to the incredible NHS staff, hospital personnel, my friends, family, and colleagues who supported me throughout my recovery. A special thank you goes to the wonderful team at Day One Trauma Support, who played a major role in helping me navigate one of the most difficult periods of my life.
I had originally planned to complete the London to Brighton ride two years ago, but life happened. Now, I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to take on this challenge for a cause that is much closer to my heart than I could ever have imagined.
By completing this ride, I hope to honour those who helped me through my journey and raise funds to support others experiencing life-changing trauma and injury. This ride is my way of giving something back to the people and organisations that helped me rebuild my life, while supporting those who are just beginning their own recovery journey. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference.
Thank you for your support! 🚴♀️❤️
