Last year I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, to say it was a massive shock is an understatement. "Invasive ductal carcinoma ER, HER2 positive" the rest was just a blur... I walked about for weeks in a haze not believing it was true. My world was turned upside down and put on hold by this awful disease.

Once I heard about the treatment plan I was even more scared - chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and injections and tablets for the next 10 years.

I have had amazing support from Hunts Community Cancer Network, their nursing team visit me every 3 weeks at home to do my injections and they have been so good making me feel at ease and helping me with any questions. They go above and beyond for cancer patients and really are superheroes, so I want to raise funds to help them to help others.

HCCN also provide support groups and regular wellbeing activities such as Reiki, Reflexology and more to help cancer patients feel better and not so alone. Going through Cancer is such a lonely experience even with lots of people around you - but the support group is a place to go and speak to people who have or are going through the same thing as you.

I continued with exercise throughout my treatment as it was my way of coping and it made me feel much better through all the fatigue and awful side effects. I truly believe it helped me heal quicker.

So to bring these things together I want to take on a fitness challenge and raise essential funds for a truly amazing charity who I couldn't have got through this without.

Oh and you may have noticed from the picture I have done this one before (11 years ago!) so it will be a challenge and a great focus for my wellbeing and fitness journey.
