Story
On Saturday 8th August, Neil and Emma, Dad and daughter team, are taking on the Derbyshire 3 Peaks Challenge – a 33km trek across Kinder Scout, Bleaklow and Higher Shelf Stones in the Peak District. This will also be Emma's final trek to complete the physical section of her Silver Duke of Edinburgh award.
It’s a tough day of walking, with over 900m of ascent and long stretches of exposed moorland, but their doing it to raise vital funds for Together Dementia Support.
Together Dementia Support works across Manchester to support people living with dementia and their carers. The work they do helps families navigate what can often be a very difficult and overwhelming time.
Without the ongoing support from TDS, I dont think I would have made it through the past few years as well as I have while caring for my mum who is living with Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer's.
Together dementia support have not only offered advise when I couldn't get it anywhere else, they have also been a life line during hard days and long nights.
They are still helping me now navigating everything that comes up on a dementia Journey and this is why Emma and Neil want to give back to them however they can. Every donation helps TDS to continue being there for the people who need them most.
The entry to this challenge is covered by TDS, but in return we want to raise a minimum of £300. Your support will make a real difference to local families in Manchester living with dementia as it has to ours.
