Story

2 months: 1 half marathon, 1 marathon.

I’m running the London Landmarks Half- Marathon on 6th of April and Leeds Marathon on 11th May for Addisons Disease Self-Help Group.

In Autumn 2021 our eldest child was diagnosed with Addisons at 9 years old.

This condition means his body does not produce enough cortisol, so if he becomes unwell or has an injury he is unable to increase the production of cortisol in his system, which is needed to help his body cope. If not treated quickly it’s life threatening.

Addisons Disease Self-Help Group support people with this condition and their families. Their information and support have been so important to us over the last few years, they even produce the emergency information in different languages for holidays!

I’d never heard of this condition before our son was diagnosed, and this small charity does really important work so I’ll be running these distances for them!

Please do donate what you can - my employer matches any fundraising I am able to do which makes it even better!
