Following on from 2021, and the completion of my journey, I was able to reinvent myself and become a leader within a new role. From doing my role, my eyes have been opened further to the perspectives of a group of hard and dedicated workers who you may not see or consider when you call the emergency services. The voices on the end of the line when you call, in your hour of need. These are the people behind the scenes, the foundation of the emergency services. These people are the people who hear the screams, the pains, the trauma that is portrayed during the calls. These people can't visualise the situations, instead drawing mental conclusions and pictures that can last a long time after the call is ended. These people are the essential foundation of all emergency services. Like foundations of buildings, they hold up the walls to the service, but are seldom seen or considered.

They too are vulnerable. They too have a limit. They too have needs to decompress, deescalate and seek assistance when needed.

This time we will go around the county to raise money for the mental health charity Mind that provides assistance and guidance for staff within all emergency services. This time we will raise awareness of the foundations of the emergency services.

This time we will shine a light on the teams that you may not see or consider. These are the teams Behind the Scenes.
