The Sunday Centre is a not-for profit organisation, based in the city centre, which serves Sheffield’s homeless and vulnerable. On Sundays, there is a particular need for a safe, warm refuge available to all because many of the other relief organisations working in Sheffield close on this day. Our main aim is to provide hot food and drinks, yet we also offer our guests a genuine welcome and the chance to socialise with others as they wish.

Story

On the 18th of August myself and Lara will be running in the Leeds Running Festival raising money for a very special cause.

We will be running for the Sunday Centre in Sheffield which is a charity that provides food and a warm space to the vulnerable and homeless of Sheffield when other services are closed.

We volunteer there providing the guests with food, clothes, a hot drink and a kind word. Since volunteering both of us have made friends with other volunteers and guests that attend the centre. It is a friendly place that treats the guests with respect, giving them hope and making them feel that they matter.

In these hard times we are seeing larger numbers of people attending each week which means more meals and other services need to be provided. The centre relies on donations to keep providing these important services to the most vulnerable when all other services are closed.

I know times are hard but if you can help us meet our target and make a donation however small we would really appreciate it.

Your money will ensure a person does not go hungry or ignored at least for a Sunday

thankyou
