FareShare Northern Ireland fights hunger and food waste by redistributing surplus food, with the help of volunteers, to 164+ local charities and groups, who last year turned it into 1.9 million meals. Your support makes a difference to people most at risk of food poverty in Northern Ireland.

Story

16th April: Bad news, I managed to catch whooping cough and after 6 weeks of coughing interrupted training I think I have to realise a marathon will be impossible until this clears up. I will be running one in 2024 come help or high water - the Belfast Marathon in Exile...

I will be running the Belfast marathon in May to raise funds for FareShare NI. I appreciate any support you can offer to this great cause.

FareShare NI originated in 2010. They are a cross-community charity that believe no good food should go to waste and their goals are to reduce food waste and reduce food poverty. In 2022 - 2023 they redistributed almost 669 tonnes of surplus food to 177 charities across Northern Ireland, this is the equivalent of 1.59 million meals.
