Story

I’m Running the London Marathon for Newry Hospice – Please Support Me!

Next year, I’ll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life – running the London Marathon – and I’m doing it for a cause very close to my heart: Newry Hospice (Southern Area Hospice Services).

Newry Hospice provides specialist palliative care to patients and families across the Southern Health Trust area. They care for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, offering compassion, dignity, and comfort in the most difficult times. Whether it’s in the hospice itself, in someone’s home, or through outpatient services, they’re a lifeline to so many – and one day, any one of us or our loved ones might need their care.

This incredible service depends heavily on donations. Every year, the hospice needs to raise millions just to keep its doors open – and that’s where we can help.

I’m putting in the miles week after week, pounding the roads in all weathers – and you can follow my training journey on Strava! Your support keeps me motivated through every long run, every early morning, and every aching leg. I’m aiming to run the marathon in under 3 hours 30 minutes – a massive personal goal – and I’m training hard to get there.

If you can spare even a few pounds, it will go directly to supporting the patients and families who need the hospice most.

Thank you for your kindness, your encouragement, and your generosity. Let’s do something amazing together.

No one fights alone – not while Newry Hospice is here.
