Neil's 60 4 60 Challenge (London to Cambridge)

Neil's 60 4 60 Challenge (London to Cambridge) · 14 April 2025 to 15 April 2025 ·
I am supporting Romsey Mill through my 60 4 60 campaign!
I will be walking continuously from London to Cambridge - a distance of 60 miles - ending on my 60th birthday!
My walk will start on Monday 14th April from the site of the hospital in Hammersmith, where I was born; and continue overnight, before ending at Romsey Mill Centre in Cambridge on Tuesday 15th April, the day I turn 60!
Romsey Mill is a charity committed to overcoming disadvantage, challenging injustice and promoting social inclusion with young people, children and families.
Each year, Romsey Mill works with over 2,500 individuals and families, many of whom are amongst the most at risk and vulnerable, from Cambridge city and across areas of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, including:
- teenage mothers and young fathers
- young people who are experiencing difficulty at home, facing challenge in their community and struggling to engage fully with education
- families with pre-school children
- autistic young people.
I have worked with Romsey Mill for 10 years. In that time, I have seen, at close hand, the importance of 'being with' those who are facing adversity and dealing with disadvantage, as they overcome challenge in their lives.
I often say that I work with amazing people who are with amazing people.
The young people, children and families that our youth and family workers are with are inspiring. They show resilience, character and preservation to overcome challenge.
I am really excited to be taking on this particular challenge.
I will welcome every offer of support and encouragement, whether that is through sponsorship or donations, well-wishing, or walking alongside me for one or more of the 60 miles between London and Cambridge."
