Oakhaven Walk · 18 May 2024 ·

Oakhaven Hospice supports people in our New Forest, Waterside and Totton communities who are facing end of life. We provide support to manage peoples physical, emotional and spiritual needs. With your donation we can really make every moment matter for those who need us most.

Story

I am fundraising for Oakhaven this year in memory of my late beloved wife, Betty. She bravely lived with cancer for four years, before it beat her in November 2022.

Oakhaven Hospice was a blessing for us both throughout her last year. They provided unlimited home care as needed until she moved into the hospice for her final couple of weeks.

I cannot praise the Oakhaven staff highly enough, everyone with whom we had contact cared deeply about making things easier for us both. Please help to support this organisation, our local hospice.

I have signed up for the 14 mile walk from Mudeford to the Oakhaven hospice site on Saturday 18th May 2024. This is the driver for my fundraising.

However, I have also booked to walk one of the Caminos in Spain, the Inglés which covers 120km from Ferrol on the north coast to Santiago de Compostela. I will be doing this walk from mid April, and would ask that you consider the additional effort involved in that if you decide to sponsor me.

Thank you for reading my story. Thank you for whatever help you can give.
