Story

On 11 July my Dad passed away in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Amongst the many things I have to thank Dad for, a special one is my love of being in the hills. I started climbing them with him when still in primary school, and since then have discovered a love of running in them (although not with Dad I should add!).

On Sunday 3 August I am running in the Glenshee 9 hill race - 30 km of running (with quite a bit of walking) across the 9 Munros around Glenshee ski centre. These hills have a special significance as I climbed 6 of them with Dad over 3 different days when I was aged 10.

As a result, I’ve decided to run this race in memory of my Dad, and to look to raise money for the Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team - thankfully neither of us has had to make use of their services, but it’s always very reassuring to know they are there.

I would be very grateful for any support you can give.
