Story
Project Nepal at ACS Egham International School is raising funds to support the relief effort in Nepal.
On August 26, 2026, a catastrophic flash flood struck along the Nepal Tibet border. Triggered by a sudden glacial collapse and ice and rock avalanche, the disaster sent a powerful surge of water, mud, ice and debris through steep mountain valleys. The resulting slurry moved with such force and speed that it was described as being like “liquid concrete,” leaving people with little chance to escape.
The disaster has caused widespread destruction across communities in Nepal’s Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, damaging homes, infrastructure and livelihoods. Hundreds of people have lost their lives, while many others remain missing, leaving families and communities facing an uncertain future.
For 11 years, ACS Egham has worked in partnership with schools and communities in Nepal, building meaningful relationships and supporting education and community development. This long-standing connection makes the impact of this disaster especially personal to our school community. Now, we want to stand alongside our friends and partners in Nepal as they face the immediate challenges of the relief effort and begin the long road to recovery.
Together, we can make a lasting difference. Your donation will help support relief efforts and provide essential assistance to people and communities affected by the disaster. Every contribution, no matter the size, can help bring hope, practical support and a sense of solidarity to those who need it most.
Thank you for standing with Nepal.
