On July 21st, we will be taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales - to raise vital funds and awareness for brain tumour research and support.

Brain tumours are the leading cause of cancer related deaths in children and adults under 40 in the UK. Every year, over 5,300 people lose their lives to this devastating disease, yet it receives just 1% of the national funding allocated to cancer research.

In July 2025, our lives changed forever. My 27 year old son, Jordan, suffered a seizure. An MRI scan revealed a 5cm tumour, which we initially believed to be a low grade, benign Glioma. However, after undergoing an awake craniotomy, he received the diagnosis, a grade 3 Astrocytoma - incurable brain cancer.

Since then, Jordan has shown so much strength and resilience. He has completed 33 sessions of radiotherapy and is now undergoing a year of oral chemotherapy, alongside regular MRI scans every three months. Throughout it all, he faces this journey with courage, determination, and hope. He inspires me everyday!

This climb is to raise awareness, help fund critical research, and support families facing similar battles. It’s about striving for better treatments and, one day hopefully a cure!
