Mark and Alan's Fundraiser Helping AAFFF raise money for a New Wheelyboat for Disabled Anglers at Draycote Water

Mark Johnson-Jones is raising money for The Wheelyboat Trust
We provide mobility impaired people of all ages with independent access to waterborne activities (e.g. nature watching, pleasure boating, powerboating, angling) in wheelchair accessible Wheelyboats. We design, build and fund Wheelyboats and supply them to groups and organisations all over the UK.

Story

The All-Abilities Friendly Fly Fishers Club are actively fundraising for a New Coulam C16 Wheelyboat at Draycote Water, which is a disabled friendly boat. This will allow disabled anglers to enjoy the pastime of fly fishing along with their friends. The AAFFF regularly organise days out for both able bodied and disabled anglers and having a new Wheelyboat for use by wheelchair users allows many disabled anglers to enjoy a day out on the water together, which would otherwise not be possible.

Alan Carleton and Mark Johnson-Jones in association with Draycote Flyfishers have set up this page to help the AAFFF raise the money and help them reach their target of £7,000 and to help with access for all disabled anglers at Draycote Water.

Alan and Mark have both previously been involved with raising money and successfully promoting Wheelyboats in the past.

Take a look at the informative video from the BBC below, of Alan explaining what an amazing difference a Wheelyboat at another Midlands water has made in the past, allowing him the freedom to access his love of fly fishing. Hint, select the ‘Maybe Later’ option, which saves you having to register.

A Wheelyboat costs £14,000 and we hope, collectively, to raise half of that money with the Wheelyboat Trust raising the other half.

Once we have raised the money for a Wheelyboat for Draycote, the AAFFF will then move their focus onto raising money for a new Wheelyboat at Grafham Water, which is another popular fly-fishing venue in the East Midlands.
