We are excited to share that our school has a special partnership with a link school in Sierra Leone.

As part of this connection, we are completing a sponsored mile to raise funds for a teacher from Sierra Leone to visit us. This visit will not only give the visiting teacher the chance to learn about teaching, learning, and supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, but it will also be a valuable experience for our children. It will help them embrace diversity, learn about different cultures, and enhance their topic lessons, project-based learning, and enterprise experiences.

Each school that is part of the link has been taking part in a fundraising event called: ' Run/Walk to Sierra Leone' which they have been carrying out within their individual schools. If every child in every link school completes 1 mile, it will complete the distance from Here (Hastings) to Sierra Leone - 4,218.2 miles!

At New Horizons school, our pupils will be completing the mile alongside their classmates/tutor groups within the school grounds. The classes have been challenged to think of a theme for their class.

Prizes will be given for:

Fastest Mile (Male and Female)

Most creative moves

Silliest / most creative costume

Most money raised

Best team effort
