Newcastle RNLI Lifesavers Fund 2023
Our RNLI lifeboats in Northern Ireland protect hundreds of communities through our 24-hour search and rescue service. They rely on the safest, most reliable lifeboats and modern stations to launch from.
Established in 1825, Newcastle Lifeboat Station operates an all-weather Mersey class lifeboat and an inshore D class lifeboat. It costs over £200,000 a year for the running costs for these boats at the station.
The unrivalled coast of Co Down is valued by local communities and visitors alike, with millions travelling to enjoy them, and work on them each year. But the water remains an unpredictable environment that can catch people out. People will always need our help and we will always be there to answer that call.
Keeping a modern fleet of lifeboats maintained, fuelled andever ready to go to the rescue from Newcastle (Co Down) lifeboat station is expensive and we rely entirely on voluntary donations to ensure this service is maintained. Add to that crew training and kit, and the pounds start to add up.
We rely on donations from you the public to continue saving
lives at sea- your donation to this page will help support the running of the Newcastle Lifeboats.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
