I was inspired to fundraise after my Mum, Belinda, received a diagnosis of Stage 2 Ovarian Cancer in November 2024 and received support from Maggie’s Newcastle. It was such a shock for me being told my Mum had cancer, and I wanted to do something to help make a difference. Maggie’s is unique in what they offer and I know how much my Mum loves their building, taking part in the activities they have and also meeting others going through a similar experience.

I decided to plan a Zumbathon® Charity Event after becoming licensed as a Zumba® instructor last year. It’s going to be amazing, 2 hours of dancing and fun with myself and 9 other instructors! There is going to be an amazing raffle, I have sourced some really fantastic prizes. There’s also going to be a bake sale on the day. Please don’t forget to bring cash on the day! Maggie’s colour is orange, so if you can, please wear orange and let’s turn Saturday morning bright orange for a great cause!
