Story
We're a team of staff and volunteers from Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange, and this October, we're running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Amnesty International
Between us, we have a combined age of 402 years, come from different walks of life, and have many personal reasons for taking on this challenge: getting fit, being social, boosting our physical and mental health, testing our limits, and achieving something meaningful together.
What unites us is a belief that every person deserves to be treated equally and fairly, no matter their situation. In a fast-changing world, we feel this is more important than ever — and that's why we're proud to be fundraising for Amnesty International.
Meet our team:
Fran Ford, age 44
Ian Stenson, age 70
James Green, age 57
Kathy Hill, age 60
Mick Knight, age 52
Polly Marchant, age 42
Sian Kennedy, age 38
Xavia Smith, age 39
We're aiming to raise £2,800 to support Amnesty International's vital work. We’ll also be hosting several fundraising events—follow our Facebook page for updates and event news.
Thank you for supporting us!

At Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange, we believe art can transform lives. We're committed to exploring how artists and arts organisations can address today's pressing social and environmental challenges, improving lives across our communities.
About Amnesty International
Amnesty International is a global movement of ordinary people standing up for humanity and human rights. Their campaigns address issues such as refugee and migrant rights, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, the Syrian conflict, and LGBTI rights. Major achievements include helping to outlaw torture, hold war criminals accountable, and control the arms trade.
Your donation will help Amnesty investigate abuses, protect rights, and change lives. Together, we can free the falsely imprisoned, overturn unjust laws, welcome refugees, protect human rights defenders—and that's just the start.
Donate today and help humanity defeat injustice.
