It’s a big birthday for the NHC – we’ve been the voice of housing in the North for 50 years!

Tenants are at the heart of housing, and the NHC’s work. So, this year we’ve decided to expand Unlocking Success, our bursary scheme, so we can support more people living in social housing to realise their ambitions.

The Unlocking Success Bursary Scheme, funded through the Northern Housing Consortium Charitable Trust, awards bursaries of £500 to help tenants develop learning and skills to support future employment. We’re delighted to be able to extend the scheme this year to offer 50 awards of cash, laptops, or vouchers to celebrate our 50th year and to support this fantastic initiative.

The NHC’s staff team is doing its part to raise money, and a number of our staff will take part in Sunderland Runs – 3K, 10K, or half marathon - on 12th May. If you’d like to sponsor them, with all funds going to our brilliant Bursary scheme, please do so here!
