Story

Hi, I'm Nia and I have been offered a place with Project Trust to volunteer in China teaching and developing children. I leave in August/September 2024 soon after I finish high school. To fund my placement I need to raise £7,450 for my flights, my health insurance, accommodation, living expenses ect. Any donations are greatly appreciated.

I work as a gymnastics coach and I volunteer at my old primary school, so I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach abroad with Project Trust.

I’m 17 and in my last year of school and at the beginning of the year was unsure what I was going to do after I left, should I go to university? Straight into work? Or should I do a gap year?

After I heard about Project Trust I knew this was for me. I am looking forward to working with children and teachers from another culture. But for me to also try new foods, learn about a new culture and their traditions and I can’t wait for the plane to take off.

When I'm in China I want to bring a fun, engaging and informative approach to learning. I’m also hoping to use my coaching skills in gymnastics and Tae-kwon-do too

Since I have to raise quite a bit of money I have some exciting events that I'm planning which include:

- Saturday Swap Shop with clothes for the children in the local primary schools

- Sponsored Burns supper and a dinner with Dundee Catering College

- Sponsored Fitness Event with my

Tae-kwon-do club
