DICE provide's a safe space and extra curricular opportunities for Deaf children in Greater Manchester who are at risk of isolation and marginalisation during the school holidays.

Through a series of free holiday clubs run by Qualified Teachers of the Deaf and Specialist Teaching Assistants, they aim to positively impact these children's communicative, social, academic and language skills. These skills often see a lapse during the school breaks, due to many reasons, from social isolation, through to a lack of resources and opportunities.

Activities are at the heart of their holiday ‘Communication Clubs’ which promote communication, socialising, language and play.

Having launched their first Communication Clubs this year, we're keen to support them to ensure that future Communication Clubs are possible, as well as supporting them on their mission to improve the wider public’s understanding of Deafness!

What does D.I.C.E Stand for?

Deaf - the children we work with.

Inclusion - giving access to those who can be socially isolated.

Communication - promoting communication in a variety of modes (BSL/SSE/spoken English) is at the heart of all of our activities.
