Niamh's fundraiser for Recovery Haven!

Dingle Half Marathon · 2 September 2023
You never expect it to be you! At 25 a cancer diagnosis was the furthest thing from my mind. Unfortunately in 2022, I was met with the stark reality I wasn’t invincible. From going a million miles an hour all the time, I now had to stop and take on a new challenge.
I know many people, like me, weren’t aware of just how fantastic the Recovery Haven is until they’ve had to unfortunately access it for themselves. Not only do they support those going through cancer, they also provide support for their families and carers in a tranquil and relaxing environment. From advice about treatment, a shoulder to cry on, endless giggles and always a listening ear, the recovery haven truly is a lighthouse in a terrible storm.
When I signed up for the half marathon last year, I thought I would be in a very different position. Whilst the road has been winding and what’s around the next bend isn’t certain, I know the recovery haven will continue to be a lifeline! Because of this I would love if you would join me in raising funds for a fantastically deserving cause.
Spare the price of your coffee this week or a little more if you can!
I won’t be setting any new world records but if I can make it around the 21km and raise some money for this amazing cause it’ll be the best way to show cancer who’s boss!
