I am raising money for Bournemouth Foodbank because working there for the last 12 months has shown me what a beautiful and magical community hub this charity is and how important it is for so many people to feel a sense of belonging, connection and community.

Bournemouth Foodbank not only meets people in their biggest time of need by providing emergency food parcels, but also works tirelessly to address the bigger picture, seeking to tackle the root causes of poverty and deprivation, campaign nationally and supporting people through their various community initiatives!

This charity has a big place in my heart, it supports people in one of the most deprived areas in the country, in the same streets I have stomped round throughout my life. This is my hometown, my community and every pound donated makes a massive difference to the lives of everyday people who happen to have fallen upon hard times.

So many people live paycheck to paycheck and it's often just one stroke of misfortune that tips people into crisis, whether that's a car breakdown, losing a job or an unexpected bill. Many people can bounce back from these things by relying on savings, friends or family, but for the people Bournemouth Foodbank supports, it is often a last resort.

I only started running in 2025, so taking on a half marathon will be tough, but I am ready for the challenge to Race for Food!
