Story
In September I'm running 10km every day for 30 days for Mind. Not because every day will be easy, but because showing up for yourself every day is the whole point. Mind helped me do that when I couldn't do it alone. Help me raise money so they can do the same for someone else.
My fundraising target is at least £300, one pound for every kilometre.
Why am I doing this?
September is often associated with a fresh start. Whether that's a new year of education, a new start of the football season, or the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. Committing to a new version of yourself now sets you up to start the new year fresh too. So why wait for a New Year's resolution?
They also say it takes 30 days to build a new habit. Luckily, September has exactly 30. How convenient!
As important as building new habits are, they also break the cycle of old ones. That's why I'm setting myself this challenge, not only to fundraise for an incredible charity in Mind, but to prove that to get out of a rut, you only have to commit to 30 days to do so. Showing up to run 10km daily amounts to 300km over the month. That's like walking from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to their second home, The Etihad, or nearly the entire length of the M1 Motorway.
Those that know me know I ran the London Marathon in 2023 and raised over £2,000 for Mind already. And yet life got in the way and my fitness faltered. This September I'm lacing up every single day to jump start not just my fitness, but my mental clarity. I want to prove to myself that I can once again kick those bad habits away whilst building new ones.
