Nic the Gnome and Alan Brown are fundraising for St Nicholas Hospice

Nic the Gnome is a charitable chap. Until recently he thought that the costs of the Hospice were met by the National Elf Service. Since he learned that was not the case, and that the operating costs of St Nicholas Hospice come to £27,000 a day, he is keen to do his bit to help.

Between now and the end of September, Nic will be out and about and invites you to challenge him to be photographed in a situation of your choosing. That might be in a particular location, with someone of a particular occupation, or with a named individual.

Challenges must be legal, moral and achievable. Although Nic likes to travel (he is from a long line of Gnomads), challenges must be within a reasonable radius of Bury St Edmunds or such other location as Nic’s agent may agree.

To challenge Nic, email him at nicthegnome26@gmail.com with your challenge and your challenge bid (minimum £5). Nic’s agent will then respond to either

1. Accept the challenge

2. Refuse the challenge

3. Negotiate the challenge bid, (the harder the challenge the higher the required bid).

Once a challenge has been agreed upon you will be asked to seal the challenge by paying the challenge bid fee to this JustGiving page (please remember to claim Gift Aid if you can).

Nic then has until 30th September 2026 to supply an Elfie meeting the challenge. If the challenge is not met Nic will offer to repay the bid fee.

Bids accepted will be matched by Nic’s agent up to a maximum of £500. Also Ashtons Legal LLP have generously agreed to match fund the first £500

Alternatively if you do not wish to issue a challenge but would like to support Nic’s fundraising efforts in the usual way, donations via the Just Giving page will be gratefully accepted and will be put to good use in supporting the fantastic work of St Nicholas Hospice
