Blue Sunday 2026!
Campaign by Action for M.E. (RCN 1036419)
Each year, since 2013, Anna Redshaw has invited the ME community and their allies to join her to raise awareness of and money for those living with ME. This year the Blue Sunday Tea Party for ME will be on Sunday 17th May!

Story

Blue Sunday is an annual awareness and fundraising event for people living with ME/CFS, bringing together those affected, their loved ones, and supporters in an inclusive and uplifting way.

Our Sunday cricket teas are a cherished tradition at Newport Inn Cricket Club, bringing players, families, and supporters together over tea, cake, and community.

This cause is deeply personal to us because Kari, our matchday tea rota organiser, lives with ME/CFS — a serious chronic illness that affects energy, mobility, cognition, and day-to-day life, often making it difficult or impossible to take part in normal activities that many take for granted.

This also means she’s often unable to fully enjoy these gatherings and support from the sidelines as often as she’d like. In recognition of this, both teams have kindly agreed to support Blue Sunday 2026 by helping to turn this traditional Sunday cricket tea into one small act of awareness, solidarity, and fundraising for Action for M.E.

Whether you're joining us at the cricket, supporting from afar, or simply want to help raise awareness of this often misunderstood illness, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support.

Every donation — however small — helps Action for M.E. continue supporting people affected by ME/CFS.

And if you’d like to join in wherever you are, feel free to wear something blue on 17 May in support 💙
