I have set myself a huge challenge this year as part of my Mid-life Crisis year, which is to run my very first Marathon, the London Marathon 26th April 2026 in memory of a lovely young man who left his beautiful parents and sister far too soon. Rhys’s parents were 2 amazing teachers who mentored my friends and I through our early teens and still now. I never got the opportunity to meet Rhys but I have heard so much about the amazing young man he was. He was extremely sporty and very driven. Rhys will be my inspiration to run the London Marathon as I am fairly sure he would have done it himself if he had, had the opportunity. The charity set up in his name provides funding for young people to enjoy experiences that could otherwise be limited by lack of funds and resources. This maybe for education, sports activities or community projects.

I know money is tight for a lot of people but anything at all you can spare would be hugely appreciated and will help keep me motivated in the weeks of training that lie ahead. Lots of love Nichola x
