Story
I’m supporting Day One Trauma Support by running in the 2025 Athens Marathon. Please support me and help raise valuable funds to provide practical and emotional support for people who have suffered catastrophic injuries.
In 2008 I suffered an extremely serious bacterial bone infection, osteomylitis, along with sepsis all stemming from septic sacroiliitis.
During an 11 week hospitalisation, Prof. Giannoudis and his wonderful team treated me, operating 4 times. It was a very traumatic period for both me and my family, and we are eternally grateful for all they did to restore me to health.
I’ve always been a runner, and thanks to Prof. Giannoudis and his team I was able to return to this hobby following my illness.
So now it’s a great honour and privilege to run the Athens Marathon as part of his team to raise funds for the charity he founded, Day One Trauma Support.
Please support me and help raise funds to help people who have suffered catastrophic injuries.
Day One receives no NHS or government funding, so every pound raised will make a huge difference to people affected by life-changing injury.
Together we can ensure that no one has to rebuild their life on their own.
