Story
Dear all, Millie and I set off on our fundraising bike ride on Thursday 23rd July. Our story is below. Please donate if you can
Lots of love, Nick and Millie
Hello and thank you for looking at my page.
My name is Nick Galgani and I retire from Greater Manchester Police on 2nd June 2026 after 30 years service. Rather than friends and colleagues have a whip round for leaving presents for me, I'd like to help families a lot worse off than I am.
The Lourdes Children and Families Trust is a charity close to my heart. They support families to enjoy pilgrimage holidays to the Catholic Shrine of Lourdes, South West France. This year's pilgrimage is from 30th July to 7th August. We prioritise the support of families with special needs and enable them to travel as part of a community of families to ensure that we create memories and friendships that last a lifetime.
So rather than putting a fiver in towards presents for my retirement, it would mean a lot to me if you'd donate what you can to this amazing charity.
On 25th July, I will also be fundraising for them by cycling 830km from the north coast of France to Lourdes. There will be 26 other riders ( including my daughter Millie ) raising funds for Lourdes CAFt.
All cyclists are self-funding, have donated their own time and money to the cause. The majority ( including Millie and I ) will be volunteering with the pilgrimage on arrival in Lourdes taking immense satisfaction from helping others
Have a great day
Nick
