🚴‍♂️ Riding for Dad – 874 Miles for the British Liver Trust

On 1st July, I’ll be starting a virtual bike ride covering 874 miles—the distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End—to honour my amazing dad.

Last year, my father was diagnosed with liver cancer. Just eight short weeks later, we lost him. It happened so fast, it barely felt real—and truthfully, it still doesn’t. Since then, I’ve been carrying the weight of that loss, struggling to come to terms with the pain and grief of losing him so suddenly.

This ride isn’t just about distance. It’s about healing.

Each mile will be my way of working through the grief, reflecting on the man he was, and finding some peace in his memory. He wasn’t just my dad—he was my best friend.

I’m taking on this challenge in support of the British Liver Trust, a charity that supports people affected by liver disease and funds vital research. The official challenge allows 92 days to complete the distance—but I’ve set myself the personal goal of finishing it in just 62 days, with the final mile landing on 31st August—what would have been Dad’s 76th birthday.

There’s no fundraising target—just a simple hope that if this story touches you, and if you’re able to give anything at all, it will go to a truly important cause.
