Team: Breakfasters fundraising for Pickups for Peace

2nd Delivery of 4X4 vehicles with supplies to Ukraine · 1 October 2025

We have already delivered 719, 4WD vehicles, ambulances and quad bikes to Ukraine, loaded with essential aid to support those most in need. But we’re not stopping there and we need your support to make it happen. Every donation helps us get life-saving aid to those who need it most

Story

John Russell, Mike Drummond-Smith, Nicholas Walters and Anthony Knyvett thank you for connecting to their JustGiving page.

Every day we all see the appalling conditions in Ukraine as a result of the unprovoked Russian invasion and the ongoing war, and, inspired by a talk we all attended, which was given by someone who had himself participated twice in the programme, the four of us were keen to help in any small way possible. The country is desperate for resources – medical supplies, generators, blankets, etc and of course for 4WD pickups to aid transportation and actively help on the front line with the extraction of wounded, resupply etc. Even if the on-going talk of a ceasefire were to bear fruit, Ukrainian charities will continue to need these vehicles and the supplies they carry, particularly the medical.

This is where, with your support, Pickups for Peace (P4P) can assist. This amazing charity arranges for volunteers to fund the purchase of second-hand 4WD pickups, quad bikes and ambulances and to deliver them to Ukraine filled with urgently needed aid supplies. As of May 2025, P4P have delivered 640 vehicles fully loaded with vital equipment.

We wanted to stop just feeling sorry for the people of Ukraine and to do something positive to actually help them. Your contribution will help us to do so.

Our original goal, when we launched this appeal, was to raise enough money to buy two pickups and the aid supplies to go in them, and then to drive them some 1,300 miles across Europe to deliver them to Lviv in Western Ukraine. We were more than successful in achieving this and thanks to one of the pickups being donated have been left with a valuable surplus. We are now planning a second trip in the Autumn; but we need to find the balance of the funding required and so have now revised our funding target.
