Story
Next week on the 16th November, I am running the Fulham 10K for the Chelsea Foundation.
I’m not normally a runner, and I had only ever run two or three 5kms before starting training, so 10k is a bit more what I am used to! Alongside my colleagues at the Chelsea Foundation, we are trying to raise money to allow the Foundation to continue the amazing work it does.
The Chelsea Foundation aims to increase the number of people taking part in physical activity across the local community. The core principle of the Foundation is improving lives through sport, either through keeping active or by providing an opportunity for people to socialise in a friendly environment. The Foundation provides opportunities such as pan-disability football, walking football, amputee teams and supporting kids from disadvantaged backgrounds.
I have personally benefited from the amazing work this charity does as I have been playing in the pan-disability team at the Foundation for the past ten years. It has given me amazing opportunities to meet new people, get active and do something I love, as well as representing Chelsea in tournaments at Stamford Bridge and in Europe, The Foundation has also provided me with an opportunity to work as a coach, allowing me to pass on my love of football and support the Foundation in its goals.
Anything you are willing to give is greatly appreciated, as I aim to beat my sisters’ 10km time.
Thank you,
Nick
P.S. Performance related incentives are not beneficial
