Welsh 3 Peaks · 19 April 2024

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

As some of you may know, in 2020 my Mum; Penny Baldwin was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. As a result it has been a real uphill struggle the last 3 years.

Unfortunately this is a degenerative disease that has caused increasingly difficult physical and mental challenges that mean Mum now requires round the clock care.

Thanks to the tireless work, and love from my Dad, Mum is now recieving the care she needs, she has a dedicated team of carers supporting her each day.

----

Lewy Body is the second most common age-related neurodegenerative dementia after Alzheimer's, and yet we still know relatively little about it. Our aim is to raise money to generate awareness for the condition. Enabling others like my Mum to get the care and support they need.

As a result myself and a group of my school friends will be climbing the Welsh 3 peaks next year. If you are able to support in any way possible please do.
