Nick's fundraiser for North Staffs Mind

Ben Nevis · 14 June 2024
In memory of my little brother Jackson.
I'm going to be walking Ben Nevis on 14th June 2024 to raise money for North Staffs MIND who help people struggling with their mental health as Jack did.
I'm finding it harder as each year passes, to drag up the buried feelings and parade them around again but I AM DOING THIS and its such a huge target to climb that I MUST raise money for such a good cause while I'm doing it.
Many of you won't know the background, but I lost my little brother on the 15th January, 2019, the night before his 42nd Birthday. A few days before this, he changed his facebook background to the simole message, BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER, the famouse phrase from thw 80's film Bill & Teds excellent adventure, which we used to watch over and over and over again as kids... its still a great film. We thought that this was such a powerful message that we started raising money using this as a slogan for Jack, and generally to be lind to everyone... MIND use the money to fund a drop in service for men where they can go, without an appointment, to talk to a professional if they're struggling. Therefore, whenever I can, I try to raise a little bit of money to help keep this service running and to help MIND keep helping people who aren't cooing or struggling with their mental health.
Snowdon was the hardest thing I've ever done and was a 2300ft climb in a 9mile walk.... Ben Nevis is a 4400ft climb in 9miles... hmmm that is almost DOUBLE what was incredibly hard last year... lets see if I can do it.
If you can spare any pennies, please donate, MIND is a fantastic cause and even though it may just help somebody and change their lives for the better.
Rest in Peace Jack x x x I'm doing this for you.
