Story
I am running the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run Half Marathon to raise money for Amos Trust’s emergency appeal for Gaza and the West Bank.
The population in Gaza is grappling with a dire humanitarian crisis, marked by profound loss and insurmountable need. The devastation and destruction that has taken place in such a short period of time has led to over 42,000 Palestinians, and 1,200 Israeli’s, being killed, 15,000 of whom are children. This is in addition to the 100,000 that have been injured. Meanwhile, 2 million people have been displaced — many, numerous times, while the population is being systematically denied access to food, water, fuel and medical care.
Amos Trust is a small human rights organisations working in three main areas, one of which being Palestine Justice, through their work with their partners in Gaza and the West Bank.
Amos Trust’s appeal aims to fortify the essential efforts of its partners in Gaza and the West Bank, including the Al Ahli Arab Hospital, Gaza Sunbirds, DSPR (NECC).
In light of recent events, Amos Trust continues to prioritise its emergency appeal. Support from the appeal include:
- Providing essential medical care to its partner the Al Ahli Hospital
- Providing vital food aid
- Providing therapeutic interventions for women and children with DSPR
- Supporting young writers from We Are Not Numbers, who are documenting a genocide
- Enabling the Gaza Sunbirds para-cycling team to provide essential food packs to their communities.
