Story
As it stands, 3 of our immediate family have cancer, all at the same time,. The most difficult one in my case, was last year when we were hit with the news that one of our children (actually a grown man now, but still our son) had Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a type of Blood Cancer.
He is currently going through chemotherapy, the first type didn't work as well as it should so he was moved on to a stronger and more regular type of chemo and we await the results now.
When we found out he was a ripped cage fighter waiting for his next fight but little did we know that fight would be against cancer and not in the cage.
I have donated to cancer charities before, direct and via other peoples JustGiving page and never gave it too much thought just because we are so busy with 7 kids, but it has been hammered home with the news of my sons illness.
So I wanted to do something to raise some money for Cancer Research whilst combining it with a very tough personal challenge.
Those that know me well will know how tough this is going to be for me, I have enjoyed a tipple for over 35 years! This is a far bigger challenge for me than shaving my head, ice baths, tough mudders, climbing mountains etc.!!
