Nick's fundraiser for AMMF

24 Peaks Challenge · 6 September 2024
This September I will be taking part in The 24 Peaks Trek, which takes in 24 of the Lake District’s highest peaks across 2 days.
The challenge covers around 28 miles, with approximately 12,500ft of total ascent.

I'm taking part in this challenge in memory of my brother, Stuart, who sadly passed away in January at the age of 50 from Cholangiocarcinoma. Stuart left behind a loving partner in Rachel, his children Sam, Adam, Sean, Jacob and Sophia, parents Eddie and Linda, 5 siblings and a wider group of family and friends who all miss him very much.
Cholangiocarcinoma (or bile duct cancer), is a very rare and aggressive form of cancer that is incredibly difficult to diagnose accurately and early, so by the time of diagnosis it is often too advanced for surgery – which is currently the only potential cure.
The AMMF is the UK’s only cholangiocarcinoma charity, and is determined to raise awareness of this devastating disease, whilst encouraging and supporting specialised research teams in their work towards better diagnostic techniques and treatments and, ultimately a cure.
Each and every donation will make a huge difference to the charity and would mean the world to myself and to all of Stuart's family and friends, who are determined to continue raising funds and awareness in his name.
