Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! Anyone who knows me knows I hate running! But I hate epilepsy more!
Most of you reading will know, but for those that don’t, our youngest son has a rare genetic disorder which causes him to have epilepsy. Although this is relatively well managed thanks to a great team of medical staff and quite a few medications, we always know he could have a seizure at any moment…
These generally result in a trip in an ambulance and a stay in hospital.
For a 3-year-old, we as his family cannot believe how he simply takes it all in his stride. From taking a cocktail of medicines three times a day, to almost weekly hospital appointments and blood tests, to bouncing back from huge tonic-clonic seizures like nothing ever happened. He really is an absolute warrior.\n\nSo if he can cope with all of that and more, I can run a few miles in September for such a worthy cause!
I am participating in the Epilepsy Society's 60 Miles in September Challenge with the hope of raising £600 to support the Epilepsy Society. It will really help me to know I am raising much-needed funds so hopefully one day my son can live a life where he doesn’t have to worry about when his next seizure might be.
Thankyou you for your support!
