Story
At the end of March, I dusted off the running shoes, started getting a few runs in, and then somehow decided it would be a good idea to sign up for the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 24 May.
So this could either end up being one of my greatest achievements… or yet another great example of questionable decision making.
Either way, here we go.
Since turning 40, I wanted to do something meaningful and support a cause that impacts almost everyone in some way.
That’s why I’m running in support of Macmillan Cancer Support a charity that does far more than most people realise, from emotional support and specialist care, to helping families financially when cancer turns life upside down.
Cancer touches nearly every family, friendship group and workplace. Most of us know someone currently fighting it, recovering from it, or sadly no longer here because of it.
Here’s to 26.2 miles, sore legs, and hopefully raising some money for a brilliant cause along the way.
