Story

Hello everyone,

On the bold assumption that my injury-prone legs get me to race day, I am going to be running the 2025 London Marathon for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.

This is a truly wonderful charity and I'd be really grateful for your support in raising much needed money to support their incredible work. The charity made my Mum's (Rosie's) life that bit more bearable whilst she was battling cancer for 9 years before she passed away in 2016. The value of maintaining as good a quality of life as possible during debilitating cancer treatment cannot be underestimated - this charity really makes a difference to the lives of those affected by cancer.

They do this through the provision of support centres, complementary therapies, information and advice and supporting clinical trials. These services are delivered free of charge to support cancer patients’ emotional well-being alongside their medical treatment.

A bit more about the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity:

Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is dedicated to supporting people whose lives are touched by cancer. Founded in 1999, the charity is the legacy of BBC broadcaster Helen Rollason, whose vision was:

“Good quality of life while coping with cancer is the most important gift a sick person can receive. It should be available to everyone.”

We are here to support men and women with all types of cancer at all stages; newly diagnosed, throughout and post treatment, as well as their wider support network of family, friends and carers.

Thank you for your support!

Nick xx
