10 kms per day for 100 days (29th March - 6th July 2024)

Catching Lives is a day centre open 7 days a week, providing essential facilities (food, laundry, showers etc) and individual support to improve housing, health and social connection. Our vision is of a society where everyone has a safe place to live and the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life.

Story

I will be running 10kms a day for 100 days from 29th March to 6th July in support of the Benenden Community Campaign in memory of Tracy Claridge to support Catching Lives.

The 1000km total run is part of the Benenden School's Centenary celebrations and features as one of the 100 acts of kindness.

I aim to do the majority of the runs in Hemsted Forest early in the mornings from 0530 onwards and usually complete the 10kms in an hour, do reach out if you would like to join me for a run! I will look to update this page as I hit key milestones - from 10 to 20, 25 to 50 days completed - do follow my journey. I usually listen to music so please do recommend a track or album to accompany me on a particular date.

Catching Lives is a small homelessness charity working across East Kent. The day centre in Canterbury is open 7 days a week and provides a friendly welcome, basic facilities (food, laundry, showers), support including a mental health specialist, and activities such as arts, cookery and gardening. It also does street outreach and tenancy sustainment. Catching Lives aim is to offer a safe, inclusive space and help people move towards personal recovery and independent living.
