I am running the London Marathon 2024 to raise money for F.A.I.R charity (Funding Auto Immune Research).

Fair raises money for 80 different autoimmune diseases. One of which is Susac's syndrome which my Mum was diagnosed with 10 years ago.

Susac syndrome is a very rare autoimmune disorder which affects only 500 people worldwide. It occurs when the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the blood vessels in the brain, eyes and inner ear.

Since being diagnosed with Susac's syndrome, Mum has been living in a nursing home and has lost her ability to walk and talk. Furthermore she has 24/7 care to keep her safe and healthy.

We lost our bubbly, funny and wonderful Mum to this condition. We don't want another family to have go through what we have. But it is likely to keep happening as there is a lack of funding going into research to examine autoimmune diseases. Therefore any money I raise will go towards FAIR and fund vital research into autoimmune diseases:

As stated by FAIR: ", research into autoimmune illnesses has often been overlooked. Autoimmune illnesses are among the most complex to diagnose and to treat. With so much ground to make up and with so many affected, we feel it’s time autoimmune research is  funded properly"
