South Downs Way · 3 May 2025 ·

Team Marsden are raising funds by taking on the fantastic South Downs Way Trek 2025 to make a difference to cancer patients everywhere.

Story

Richard's wife Sally has been treated for leiomyosarcoma at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea, for over 10 years now. The fantastic staff there have made the last 10 years possible by helping her through three operations and four microwave ablations, the latest of which used robotic guidance that would not have been possible at other hospitals. Sally is currently undergoing her third different type of chemotherapy.

In a break from our previous cycling exploits, Richard and I are taking on the challenge of a marathon length walk through the South Downs from Brighton to Eastbourne on 3rd May. Any support that you can offer The Royal Marsden, through us, would be greatly appreciated for this amazing cause

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. They ensure nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.

From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
