It's that time of year again when I attempt to seriously injure myself, this year in the Netherlands again, together with a group of other largely middle-aged mates (age range early 20’s to mid 70’s)

I am raising money for a fantastic children's cancer charity called CHICS, which supports ill children, and the whole family of a child diagnosed with cancer, to help them to make memories.

This year we are on the overnight ferry from Hull and will start riding from the ferry terminal at the Hook of Holland, through to Leiden on the Thursday, to Amersfoort on Friday and finishing in Arnhem - around 210 miles in total.

Over the years we have been supporting charities via our annual bike ride, we have raised over £100k and supported worthy causes such as Prostate UK, the Bloom Appeal (blood cancer), MacMillan, Zoe’s place and Marie Curie. We have cycled all over Ireland (North and South) several times, and the Netherlands represents a nice change, but not without it’s challenges.
