Story
I'm raising money for a fantastic charity in Nepal called Classrooms in the Clouds. The charity was set up by Dawa Geljen Sherpa, who I met when I was trekking in the Himalayas, in 2023. His vision is to support children in the rural Solukhumbu/Everest region to access high quality education in earthquake resistant classrooms. Find out more about the amazing work of Classrooms in the Clouds in this video and, if you have a couple of spare quid, please consider donating. Thank you.

In August, I will be heading off to climb Mt Ararat in what was Armenia, but is now eastern Türkiye. Although it’s not a technical ascent, at 5,137 m (16,854 ft) above sea level, it’s likely to be a pretty tough one; anything above 5,500 m.a.s.l. is classified as Extremely High-Altitude. I will also be climbing Little Ararat (3,896 m.a.s.l.), first, to assist with acclimatisation.
In doing so, I hope to raise some money for an education support charity in Nepal, called Classrooms in the Clouds.
The charity was set up by Dawa Geljen Sherpa, who I met when I was trekking in the Himalayas, in 2023. His vision is to support children in the rural Solukhumbu/Everest region of Nepal to access high quality education in earthquake resistant classrooms. As well as working in partnership with local communities to build safe, comfortable classrooms, CITCNepal runs a teacher training sponsorship programme, and supports girls to continue their education.
Classrooms in the Clouds is a charity registered in England and Wales which supports the work of the NGO and its Committee in Nepal.
I’d be delighted if you felt able to make a donation - however small - to support the work of Dawa and his team in bringing a brighter future to the children of the Solukhumbu/Everest region of Nepal. Thank you.
