Story

Doorways Derby is a charity that was started in 2015 by Craig and Lisa Wheatley to help homeless rough sleepers in Derby City Centre. With the help of their friends Patrick and Tina Hall they endeavoured to provide a hot meal, hot drink, and sandwich pack for these homeless people

It soon became apparent that there was a bigger issue in the city and that vulnerable people in hostels, social housing and shared accommodation were also struggling to get a decent meal.

Doorways Derby now has a team of volunteers that go out into Derby City Centre on a regular basis to distribute food and run a pop up kitchen. Alongside this they run a food bank and produce table from their home address. This is open on a Saturday and people from the local community can go along and take what they need to put a meal on the table.

In July/August 2023 I will be attempting to Cycle Irelands Wild Atlantic Way. (with some small deviations for places of interest) I have given myself a month to do it , a distance of approximately 2500km.
