During lockdown number one, my dad suffered a number of falls whilst taking his government allocated one hour exercise a day. 18 months later he was diagnosed with MND after a couple of possible misdiagnoses.

My good friend Nick and I will be walking the northern coast of Spain for 35 days in support of this charity that has helped both my mum and dad since diagnosis in the hope that one day this awful disease can be eradicated.

My dad coached both myself and Nick and an entire football team in Chester as well as coaching another at the school where he worked in his dream job, whilst also regularly fitting in a quick 10k before leaving for work (and it was quick, he was a 2:30 marathon runner).

He went to Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War and served his country proud. And I’ve always been proud to call him my dad.
