Story
Nick was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis in 2012. He didn't know what his future held, so he focussed on the here and now, always living his life to the full with travel, hobbies, and a busy work life. He never let his health issues get in the way and even when he physically slowed down, he started learning Danish and the bass guitar.
Nick will be very much missed by his family, friends and colleagues and any donation you can make to the Amyloidosis Research Fund will go towards helping find ways to minimize the impact this complex and incurable disease has on others.
The National Amyloidosis Centre (NAC) team has made fundamental discoveries about amyloidosis over more than 40 years and the NAC has been NHS funded since 1999 to provide diagnostic and management advisory services for all UK amyloidosis patients. The charitable Amyloidosis Research Fund within the Royal Free Charity provides invaluable support for world leading research, development of new treatments and delivery of key tests that are not available elsewhere.
