Story
Summer 2026 I’m attempting to climb the Matterhorn one of the most challenging peaks in the Alps. It’s steep, technical and demands complete focus, fitness and resilience. It’s not something you can bluff your way through; you have to earn it.
I’m doing it in support of Aspire, a charity that helps people living with spinal cord injury rebuild their independence. For many of them, daily life is a far greater mountain than any physical summit. The challenges they face regaining mobility, confidence, and adjusting to life-changing injury make my climb look small in comparison.
Training for the Matterhorn is forcing me outside my comfort zone. Early mornings, long strength sessions, endurance training and developing the technical ability needed to earn my place on the mountain. When it gets tough, I remind myself: I choose this discomfort. Others don’t get that choice.
I want this climb to raise funds—and awareness—for people whose lives have changed instantly, and who now have to rebuild everything, step by step.
If you can support this cause, your donation will genuinely change lives. Aspire provides essential rehabilitation programmes, housing support, independence training and vital guidance for people and families dealing with spinal injury.
Thank you for helping me make this challenge mean something bigger than reaching a summit.
